Assignment
Design a house based on the concept of “wisdom”. Use an abstract 2D composition as inspiration.
Concept :
Wisdom (Noun ):
the quality of having experience, knowledge, and good judgment; the quality of being wise.
Wisdom is being able to make connections between different situations and experiences. It’s connecting dots between unusual items, seemingly unrelated ideas. Wisdom is being able to see past borders, but also understanding that there are some things that will remain unknown. This is represented through the connected geometry and the circle symbolizes the unknown.

Design
The final design implements a variety of angles in the stairs, rooflines, and façade. I wanted the section view to show all the angles converging in a way that was similar to the 2D concept. To reinforce this, I used furniture and fixtures with similar geometry as well as reflective materials such as glass and metals for finishes that would reflect the angles. The circle manifested as a double-sided fireplace; I wanted to divide the space, but allow one to have some access to “knowledge” of the other space.
